Congrats Helen! I use a modded period Leica half case with the wraparound strap for my 1932 IId. It was originally a dome case for a mounted VIOOH, but works perfectly for the lugless LTM bodies.

Helen,
Congrats on getting a little Leica II! I love mine!
Saw you already made up your mind but still I'd like to offer some choices!
Either carry it in your pocket with the Elmar 3.5/50mm retracted, carry it in a purse or a shoulder bag, or (drum roll) get an old FED case and take the top part off. Requires some online scouting to get the correct one but they fit like a glove!
And, you can use a wrist strap and have it handy all the time

Here's a quick and not very fancy shot of my IIIb, with its rather nasty Summar lens next to it on one side, and a 135 mm./4.5 Steinheil Culminar on the other. It's wearing a rather nice Rodenstock Distagon 35/2.8 and a Tewe accessory finder.
Unfortunately, when I took it out of its case for this picture, my thumb went through a raised spot on the back covering, which has separated. Glue time I guess.
I bought this back in about 1969 or 70 from a friend of my father's for either 20 or 25 bucks, can't quite remember. The Summar had been on a cheap unknown fake Leica copy I bought at a pawn shop in the 60's for $35. The other two lenses were bought by my dad for his (now sold) IIIA, on a trip to Germany in 1951.
The camera itself is #280457.

my leica ii ....but what is the screw lodged on the outter rangefinder barrel????
Hi there,
I like to show off my new Leica II I think is amazing however I just cant get my mind off of this screw that I see on the outter barrel of the rangefinder. I have not seen this on any other leica ii as yet. and I am curious about what it is and was it done from leica factory?
if anyone can clarify for me I would be forever greatful and I can rest in peace lol.
