Show off your Leica I/II/III/LTM Camera

Hi Folks! After reading and researching for months I found this tasty black and nickel combo in Richard Caplan's shop in London. I'm smitten! It's gorgeous. It must have had a recent CLA, the lens is spotless, from 1931, and the camera (1936) is mechanically the best I've come across (I work in a camera shop with a cabinet full of Leicas to play with). Everything moves as smooth as silk, and the range finder and viewfinder are as clear as can be. It feels like a new camera. Just loaded my first roll of XP2!

Nice Elmar kit, although the middle lens cap is postwar (and fits E39). 🙂

Thanks Rico. You are quite right about the cap. But the clever thing is that it fits nicely over the lens hood.
When we are at it, the A36 cap is a russian copy. Shame on me.

Hi all, Stu here. I'm a noob so please be kind.

Here's my iiif project, which is my first foray into the world of Leica. Acquired locally from the daughter of its late former owner, it has had the serial number removed from both the body and the lens.

I'm going to reinstate the serial number and paint the top cover and base plate black.

Yes - and I don't think it's suspicious. Its former owner was a professional photographer, now deceased. I bought it when it was advertised locally by his daughter, disposing of her late father's estate. She remembered the camera from her childhood. Googling the topic afterwards, it seems to be not all that uncommon for pro photographers to remove the serial numbers from their equipment to render it valueless and therefore not worth stealing.
Anyway, on a separate thread about chassis numbers you can see that I've got the correct number to reinstate on the top cover.
