Ash: The camera looks super cool. Is the finder permanently attched to the body? My Standard has two accessory shoes but no attached finder.

John & Ash, lots of good Barnacks there... nice!

Ditto. And yet, with screw-mounts to feed, shoot and primp, I refuse to lay down (and can't justify) the bucks to get one. Ha!I need a good digital camera, my cameraphone is appalling.

Gordon What's that on top of your camera? How many channels do you get with it.

Damn that's an enticing camera! Looks like you got a hard case for yours, mine came in a soft leather "pouch". I need to remove the lil purse handle bit and give it a shoulder strap, so it can hide under my jacket
Here's the IIIc, and the Standard and IIIc together. More appalling pics to come

Ash: The balancing of the Standard on the banana is a good one.

Remember folks, you saw it here at RFF - the world's first "Leica Banana-pod!"Ash said:Here's my Leica Standard balanced atop a banana.

Th soft texture works wonders for the slow shutter speeds

Hi Raid,
The Finder is screwed onto the body by 4 tiny screws, on my standard the finder is missing (almost impossible to find a replacement)
I think you have the later edition of the standard intended for science work (those 2 shoes are for connecting various accesoirs) IIRC
Get yourself a CV 25/4 or 21/4 and be a (very) happy snapper!!

Thafred, isn't it difficult to change shutter speeds with that finder in the way?

No, it isn´t as much in the way as it looks on the picture.
on my IIIa thou I can´t change the shutter speed at all because the finder blocks lifting the wheel!
The only issue I encoutered with this setup is that the finder seems to sit too close to the lens compared to a bessa body so framing needs some practice but it´s doable.
I guess it´s the most compact Superwide outfit imaginable

Ah nice. It's a pity you're missing the finder, though. I'm guessing yours was originally a donor body
Annoyingly, the external finder wouldn't mount on my Standard, as there wouldn't be space (as you can see from the 4 screws)
