A bit of an odd-ball. The Voigtlander Prominent Nokton 50f1.5 - by many considered one of the best high speed 50's lenses. Unfortunately it usually comes on Prominent camera - an ergonomic disaster. Camera Quest still have some of the adapters for using it on a Nikon (and Contax). I keep shooting with it and the film is backing up in the darkroom, but I hope to process this week-end. One S2 with the Nokton 50f1.5 and another with the Zeiss ZM Sonnar 50f1.5. It will be interesting to see how they differ.

Playing around with some cameras, I decided to put together a "working" kit from the 60's. Nikon S2/S4/SP and the essential lenses. A 21 - which most often was a Biogon 21f4.5 as the Nikkor 21f4 was scarce already then. A 35f1.8 - still one of the great 35's and the 50f1.4. The 50 f1.1 was available, but rather big and a bit prone to having aperture blades gather at the bottom of the lens. Of course, the 105f2.5 - a lens that in many ways made Nikon's reputation as one of the premier lens-manufacturers.
This kit and some 400 asa film, usually Tri X - would cover just about any job you had to do.

Strangely, the Millennium 50mm has obvious vignetting if not set to any equivalent Leica lens. Will try to post some pictures soon.

Nikkor. What else?
Hi Zen-shooter,
Nice 35/1.8 LTM lens (I have the Nikon mount version). It is not the first time I see this lens hood pictured (first picture in your post), but all my searches have turned out in vain. Do you have any link where I can buy these?
Thanks

Hi Stefano,
The S you CLA'd for me is taking regular exercise, although lately I've been using the S2 more. They are quite different cameras though, so it is nice to switch back and forth between the S and S2.

My M5s need red dots!
My new acquisition (photographed with a Nikon D700).
Nice seeing so many confederates of this one, looking so healthy and shiny!

And I used to think that people would pay higher prices for stuff at camera swaps...

Swaps are a bit hit and miss. Sometimes there is a lot of stuff and high prices (optimists are everywhere!) and sometimes, particularly if you are willing to wait towards the end - you can get bargains. This only works if you are not looking for something specific. I ended up with the hammertone F2, a black F in really good shape and a Hektor 125f2.5 for less than 1/2 what I sold my M2 and collapsible 50f2 Summicron for.
OK, I am a sucker for Nikon F's (7 at the last count) - and black ones are a bit difficult to find. This one is very smooth, almost S3 feeling. Running rolls through both the F2 and the F at the moment to check speeds etc. So far they both sound good.

I have eye-level finders for it, Some Chrome and a couple of blacks. Will change it once I ca pry the one on the other black off. It has sat on that body for 20+ years and is remarkably reluctant to come off. Second black finder is in pieces as I need to clean it out and straighten out some dents in it.

When I grow up, I want to tinker with stuff like you do.
For now, I just have a quick question: if I put a UV fllter on my Nikkor S lens (see shot above), will the original Nikon hood still fit or will I have to buy one from Steve?
Thanks!!
