So all of you Nikon fans and supporters, how many here wear Nikon sunglasses? Do you treat your eyes to the great Nikon glasses as you treat your cameras to Nikon glass?

My current 'Serengeti Drivers' are the best sunglasses I have ever owned ... I've had them for over ten years and when they eventually do fall apart life will never be the same! :D

I couldn't see Magus wearing Nikon sunnies ... I'm sure he'd have problems with the lenses! :p

I also have the Serengeti Driver's Glasses since twenty years, but when I started wearing Nikon glasses Made in the the 1990's), I was astonished at the clarity of those glasses. I found on ebay new old stock with all papers and so on. The coating is beautiful purple and the make is really like a solid Nikkor would be made as a lens. I recently stepped and broke theNikon glasses, so I quickly bought two replacement Nikon glasses the following week. Why two? There were two ebay auctions, and I won both.

Oddly enough I also have some sort of Serengetti glasses, but I still prefer my Raybans (pilot form with B-15 glass). On a sunny day they make the world look so beautiful... *sigh*

So, they don't make em like that anymore, of course.

Now, what I want is some Leica sunglasses. :D :D :D :D :D

Are you listening Leica? A little red dot somewhere - how much would a pair cost?

edit: just noticed, my avatar is wearing the serengettis

Keith,
No, I am referring to new old stock lenses with titanium frames and optical glass that is solid. You may have to type "vintage Nikon glasses" to find those few remaining lenses on ebay. I also found this way NEW Zeiss sunglasses from the 1970's in Germany. Someone still them on the shelves of an Optometrist glasses store! Those, however, are fainlty coated and remind me of Elton John's glasses. I use them when the sun is about to set and the light levels are not strong.

Nikon glasses of high quality run about $300 full price.
Once in a while you find them for sale in some mail order catalog.
The Serengeti glasses are kept for use during car travels. They are Driver's glasses.

I still wear my Ray Ban 'Cats Eyes' (like Roy Orbison). Best 20 bucks I ever spent allmost 20 years ago.

I made bids on two ebay auctions, and I won both Nikon sunglasses. I find them offering extremely clear views.

The vintage Nikon sunglasses are more expensive. Somehow, I could buy new design Nikon glasses for far less.
