Show off your TLR!

What kind of hood do you use here? Is it plastic?
Thanks!

Some will say I'm mad for doing this...

What, using a strobe?

Or that standard bracket. The Yashicamat has no lock on the door release, so I bought a TLR bracket for it (for too much money on eBay). I did not realize it was going to put the strobe so far out to the side. I though I would be able to adjust it so I could hold the strobe and fiddle the focus with my finger tips, but even if I could adjust the bracket the Honeywell/Rollei mount would still push it too far out for that.

I wonder if I could just screw the mounting plate directly on the side of the camera? No wonder old-time wedding photographers preferred the Minolta Autocord that could be operated with just the right hand over the Rolleiflex and Yashicamat.

The most beautiful one I had:

Unfortunately sold again.

The Yashi-24 with a little relative:

And the latest one, built with my dad. ;)

The more I look at these photos, the more I'd like to buy one again.
Now, that I have found a great lab that also develops medium format well, I guess I will keep my eyes open on the next camera fair. ;)

Looking spiffy in her new Grip-tac skin from cameraleather.com is Minolta Autocord #164083. Not bad for a 53-year-old!

In addition to installing the new skin, I removed the ground glass and field lens and cleaned them and the mirror, resulting in a much brighter view. The glass is clean and clear, and the shutter speeds sound right to my experienced ear. I've put one roll of Portra through her, which I just sent out yesterday.

Now, I'm only missing the little Minolta insignia from the front of the hood. If anyone has one on a junker Autocord that they would be willing to part with, let me know.

By the way, I received excellent service from Camera Leather. My order was acknowledged immediately and received within a week.
