Show Us Your Greatest Composition

Peter . . . not to minimize your beautiful shot here, but are you familiar with "The Weeping Angels" ? . . . one of the scariest Dr. Who stories ever !!

That was my first thought when I saw the picture. What a great episode! And I like the picture, too. It´s the moment the TARDIS disappeared. 😀

I like the play between the two figures, soft focus and sharp, age and expressions.

I can't think of one composition that I prefer more than any others so I'm just going to carry on enjoying everyone else's.

Great idea for a thread.

This is one of my faves , I really enjoy this west coast fog and how lucky I was to get this with the viewfinderless (that's gotta be a word?) Frankencanera. Peter

I have always been fond of this photo because, well because I don't really know why. I waited for the group of people to walk into the photo cause I wanted the addition of their legs & feet. later someone who critiqued this photo said I needed to crop out left side of the people walking. BTW I shot this with a Bessa L & 25/4 CV lens w. Kodak BW400CN.

maybe this one…i love baseball, the game. this shot has it all, the players, the scoreboard, the fans…arod has just swung & missed…you can see the ball as it's about to enter the catcher's glove...blue jays vs the yanks in toronto...

This one comes to mind. It's unusual to look up at the ceiling and see an old sign, the wood planks on the provides the lines. So I match it with the blurred shape of the fan.

Fascinating, that's all I can say. Seeing so many different schools (if you will forgive me for using that term) being expressed here.
Some absolutely stunning work, guys and girls.

I'm not sure, if it is my greatest composition, but it really is a composition. It follows the idea of "Neues Sehen" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neues_Sehen), a vision of photography in the sphere of influence of the Bauhaus Art movement. I often photographed in that style long before I knew about "Neues Sehen", but when I learned about it, I found that this style of breaking the rules and being "deliberately dilettantish" is what I often do and like very much afterwards.
