Many years ago I searched out an original OM-1 without the MD badge and the plain base plate. Meaning one that had to be sent back to Olympus for modifying if a MD or winder was to be used.
Alas the prism foam had attacked the prism but I discovered - talking to Micheal Spencer that the OM10 ones fitted (and he had some) and so I got the OM-1 completely restored. Then I started looking for dud OM10's to stockpile prisms but despite buying them in flea markets and so on and never spending more that a fiver for one with the standard lens I never found a dud but I did discover what nice, relaxed cameras they were and the metering is hard to confuse, like the µ-I's. Add the 28mm (cheap) and the 85mm f/2 (dear) or 135mm f/2.8 (cheap) and you've a good outfit...
