That OM does that too.
I was looking for an OM, but found the Fujica for a great price, so I couldn't resist. Spent 35 bucks including the lens and (user grade) case.
I'll order a strap for it from Gordy too, he does an amazing job.

*I* probably wouldn't survive tho!
Funny you should mention the f3 - I sold my f3p/md4 awhile back.

Get yourself a heavily used, cheap F3 with MD-4, stick a fast 50 on it, load it with Eneloops, set it on continuos drive for focus bracketing and enter her wedding.
The camera surely will survive the stairs![]()

I guess it still does, considering I dropped it a few days ago :bang:
Nothing to do with the strap though, I wasn't using it then.
Somehow it survived, undamaged.

...nope, it's Contax 159mm - can't say enough good things about this body

The Contax 159 MM is by far my favourite SLR. It's small, light, well-equipped, easy to use and I find it very beautiful....nope, it's Contax 159mm - can't say enough good things about this body![]()

This is my SLR of choice for street work. A mean, black MX in great condition. With a SMC 1.4 or 1.7 50mm or the SMC 2.8 28mm. I also shoot with an OM4 for tricky light e.g. high contrast, as I prefer the 8-spot metering mode.

I'm quite jealous...
Thanks! As you can tell from the self-timer lever, this is a late model F ("Apollo", SN# 744...). I obtained the finder seperately, but it's configuration makes it "period correct" for this body.

Family portrait. Considering that on Dec 1, 2010, I didn't own anything with the Nikon name on it...

There's no requirement here that the Clunky SLR be small-format, is there? I've just bought a Bronica S2 and am loving it. I'll sheepishly admit I chose it not only for its functionality (I'll never buy a completely useless shelf queen) but in large part also because it's very sexy. And, to get into some classic Nikkor glass.

Various writers online have compared its lines to those of classic American cars, and I must say I fairly agree. The long "chrome" (stainless steel, actually) strips down the length of the body are beautiful. (Our head bartender calls them "gaudy"!
) Also lovely is the original grey leatherette -- a nice departure from most other cameras having been offered in only black leatherette (credit to Meopta and Rollei for their grey models as well).

Some observations: The fit and finish are great. The threaded lens cap even has a free-rotating center; God forbid you screw it in and find the Bronica logo not exactly level; you can then turn the center!) Much has been written across the 'net about the unreliability of the gear-train on the S2; mine appears to be fine. And finally, much ink/many electrons have been spilled about the shutter sound, using hyperbole like "gunshot," "terrifies the children," "earthquake," etc. Its hearty "thwack" is louder than any leaf-shutter rangefinder's "snick", for sure, but I don't find it tremendously, disastrously louder than the sound of some old 35mm SLRs I have. The focus was off when I got this camera (ground glass was seated wrong) but that was easily fixed. Then it was off to take quick test pics near home (HP5+, weather greyer than the camera's leatherette):
