Pherdinand said:Rover, that rokkor 58/1.2 is said to be a magic lens.
Have any wide open photos to show us?
Anyway - here is one of my slr's - the bigger one![]()
Pherdi, it is an awesome lens. Introduced with the SRT 101 I think, they are quite a pair. I have not used the 85/1.7 also in that photo so much, but it too is a great lens. I love my Rokkors for more reasons other than just that they are cheap.

Paint me jealous. I had an OM-1. Loved that camera to death. I had it in a small sling case on my passenger seat one day and my wife sat on it accidentally. Well, I had a soft release button on her and she jammed the shutter release right into the gear train and that was the end of that. I'll get another one one of these days... ugh.

This is a "family portrait" (taken with a friend's {d-word} camera) a while back. The SLR (K1000) is dead center and yes I use it quite a bit.
I do use the RFs (there is also one missing, adopted since the portrait was taken, black GIII) for low-light, available light, and some general stuff as well. The little olympus is my carry-everywhere camera, and the Yashica I've only done 1 1/2 rolls so far and still climbing the learning curve.

The best camera is one that still works!
My god ... I was expecting to be burned at the stake for starting this thread and was convinced it would be shunned ....
Anyway ... I have just discovered I have another SLR that I had completely forgotten about ... a Pentax SP500 My son borrowed it about fifteen years ago and I've just reclaimed it. It's a bit battle scarred but seems in good nick still with all the shutter speeds sounding ok ... just needs a battery for the meter!

You're not the only one
I wonder what was the Leica designer thinking/smoking/drinking, big, round shoulders are not flattering on *anything*...

350D_user & shadowfox, I know what you mean and it does weigh a ton but the viewfinder and feel of it are worth the uglyness! It has grown on me though and most other Slr's look dated next to it. I do like those Nikon F's though! Oh and the Canon F1 and the Olympus om's and the .................. nightmare!!!!

GLF
This Ultron 40mm F2.0 was available in AIS (F-Mount) as well as K-Mounts. However, it has been discontinued by Voigtlander.
Might wanna check with Monsier Gandy if he has any left.

Someone mention weight?

Its shutter speed dial needs some work doing on it, one of its retaining screws seems to have either lost its grip, or is just worn out.
Yessir, it's my first attempt at getting a lens for Eva on the cheap. After picking it up at the antiques fair, I mentioned that its shutter was continuously firing after winding on. So, the seller got £3 off me for it. Suffice to say, the lens fits, but doesn't work.
I never envisaged I'd end up with a lens for Eva for not much more than that either.

It's a Zenit S. It is a cute little sucker. It's a Zorki 1 with a reflex mechanism.
