Contax G2, 90mm F2.8, Kodak Ektar 100.

The Zeiss lenses for the G system are extraordinary.

Yes they are. The G system is ridiculously cheap for the value provided. I'd stack the G lenses against the best of the Leicas, at a 10th of the price. And you can pick up a G body to support the lenses for $120.

Contax G2 + 28 mm.
Shooting CH (continuous high) the start of a Donkey Race in Kenya.
The G2 has little to envy in speed to modern DSRLs, six shots from the start to the passage of the last runners.

When I elected to shoot with Zeiss lenses I had the choice of Zeiss Ikon ZM and Contax G system. ZMs were and still are expensive and with the price of a new ZM and one lens I got a G2 plus four lenses. Definitely a bargain for such superb quality.

I sold my Black G2 kit a couple of years ago because I always used my M6. I have always regretted that. Saw a young man in Sydney 2 weeks ago with a G1 on a tripod.

I can't believe it took me this long to post to this thread. The G was one of my most favorite film cameras. Just the feel of it was inspirational. I have had three of them, two G2 and one G1. Gave them up when I got the bug for a Leica digital. Made money on the g's, lost it on the Leica.

I just came back not long ago from Nepal with my Contax G2 + 45mm
I find that a great tool for traveling, loving this camera.
I am sure it will go with me to a lot more trips.
