Oh -- I'm not either. I just have a bunch of film around and the GR1v is an appealing way to shoot it.
Well, I'm not even trying to do the all-time debating film vs digital comparison at all..
However, the build-in BW preset in GR digital is quite impressive

Had a GR1- lens was amazing but the autofocus sucked. Felt a little delicate; sold it on. I consider the prices for the GR1v to be high (cult camera) so was never enticed. Much prefer my GRD iii, though that will be going as well...

The GR1 (also 1s, 1v) features a 3-point, vertical only phase detection sensor. The AF was slow; but what really made it suck is the plain AF assist light, while other passive focus P&S cameras like the TC-1 and T3 have patterned light.
The marvel was the Snap mode... pity that few other cameras of the era had it.
