Hi fellow leicofiles,
I've been using my Leica M2 with great pleasure and enthusiasm, but it broke on me a year ago. I took it to a repairman and he told me basically that the shutter curtains needed to be replaced. After a while he notified me saying that the shutter drum is broken and needs to be replaced.
Did any of you have this problem before with the Leica M cameras? What did you do about and can you also tell me how much this shutter drum costs?
Kind regards,
Your fellow leicofile

Zuzu, where do you live? People can give you recommendations closer to home.

Never heard of the shutter drum breaking but I guess it can. Curtains needing replacement isn’t uncommon

I live in the Netherlands. That would be nice indeed. But nobody had any issues with the shutter drum?

There is a user in this forum called Erik Van Straten - he might know someone in Netherlands as he is having some of his own Leicas serviced.
Alternatively - Cameraworks are the experts in UK. Their website is here: https://www.cameraworks-uk.com/
