Shutter fault

I know this has probably been answered, but I can't find it. This week, my M8 started showing 'shutter fault' on the LCD - only once or twice, and I haven 't used the camera in a couple of weeks. Have had this camera since new - bought the first year it came out - and it's been reliable until now. Are there any fixes or tricks besides sending it back to New Jersey and then to Solms? Thanks,
 
Thanks, Steve. That may well be the problem - smack the bottom of the camera - as it also said bottom not on. Next time it happens, I'll try it. In the meantime, I'll probably buy a Canon D7 to back up my aging D1. Thanks.
