So I got my hands on a FM2/t for a lovely price. Coming from an F2, my neck is loving this thing!
I am thinking about sticking with it, the only issue is that I'm left eye dominant and can't get on shooting another way. Well, I guess I could relearn it, but then I'd sooner just go back to the F2.
Those who've shot an FM2 left eyed will know that, with its shutter lock tied to the film advance lever, you're poking yourself in the forehead or nose constantly.
I remember hearing of people disengaging this lock, so that you can fire the shutter with the film advance at the locked position (that's how I shoot my F2..) sure you wouldn't have power to the meter, but I use a handheld anyway.
Does anyone know how to bypass the pesky shutter lock? Maybe there's a camera tech or repair shop that does it?

If I recall correctly, you can put an MD-12 (or MD-11) on it. Then you don't have to have the advance lever sticking out for the camera to fire the shutter.

shutter lock on FM2's - anyone know how to remove it?
Yes. That is what I do with mine.

Also, the Nikon DK-3 rubber eye-cup may provide some additional relief from the film advance lever.
