Shutter Noise

I have a Leica M4 and have recently purchased a Rollei 35S since I wanted something more compact. Having read numerous posts surrounding the 'almost inaudible' silent shutter of the Rollei I was very disappointed to find that it is no different in volume to the Leica which on a busy street is no problem but in a quiet town draws attention. I wondered if anyone has experience with the different models of Rollei 35s and whether there is a difference in shutter volumes between the various models and, perhaps, between those made in Germany and Singapore?

This is mine, made in Germany. It's maybe a bit louder than my M3's or M6's.

My Canon QL17 GIII, Olympus 35RC, and Minolta 7sII is quieter than the Rollei 35.

My Olympus XA quieter still.

The quietest rangefinder I have is probably a Retina IIa, but they're awkward for me to use.
