Shutter release and lock came off GX!

My GX's shutter release and shutter lock came off the camera body!

I managed to put it back in place by rotating the lock and screwing it down, however, the lock is no longer locking the shutter release!

I would like to know if this merits to ship back the camera for repair or perhaps I can fix it myself?

Suggestions are most welcome!

The shutter button assembly is held on by a lock ring. It is a bit difficult to put these back together. It is easier to simply replace the top cover with another one. I have extra top covers in silver or black if you want one.

An understatement! If they are the same as on the GSN, it is darn near impossible! Go for the replacement top!

Wow, I am buying the replacement top or having the camera shipped to Georgia from Costa Rica for warranty repair...quite a conundrum!

Replacement top plate arrived, had it replaced, original ever-ready cover arrived, cute!

Now I have a good replacement original top plate with the loose shutter release and I am going to attempt fixing it. All thanks to @Frontman and this website.

In the meantime I purchased a step down 55-52 mm adaptor and three ND filters to play with my two Electro 35's with motion and water, people and umbrellas and color shift and motion.
