I bought an old style shutter release for my 35mm flm cameras. I out it in the hole on the M7 but it won't work. Tried with a film last night as I was doing long exposures on bulb but you press it and it just seems to get blocked in there and not fully penetrate. It works fine when not connected with the camera

1. Does anyone know what is causing this and if I can remedy it?

2. Rather optimistically, and as I had no choice, I ended up having to do 20s + exposure with my finger pressed on the B button - is this certain to be a waste of the film, or is there a chance with my steady hands that it will be fine?

Thanks

Nick,

After hosing 2 expensive shutter release cables I now use a generic, inexpensive shutter release. I picked them up at a local pro shop and they were around $15 as opposed to the $35 cords that jammed, bent and literally fell apart.

Best regards,

Bob
