No thanks...1 sensor for speed checking is useless, Even a leaf shutter the "speed" will vary from edge to center, With a focal plane the curtain acceleration and braking can also change exposure from side to side. Back in the 60's and 70's NatCam had the "Motion Analyzer" which used 1 sensor to trigger the trace. Masks were used for the side to side and another was used for leaf shutters. If I cant see the difference at full width speeds, the sound won't either.

For a similar price (or less) I put together a unit with an LED,bat and box,etc along with the small phono adapter and using the free audacity software have had great success in getting correct exposures with older shutters ( I'll clean them later). There's numerous sites to illustrate what's necessary. Peter
