Hmmm.. While the new dp1 announcement may interest some... What I am more interested in is the picture of the sigma branded LCD hooded viewfinder.

Maybe the wheel never really was round?
Sigma seems to know something about whatever it is they know about efficient design that we don't know

You can't complain that they don't cut their own cloth!
I assume it flips out of the way for composing? (letting all that sunlight back onto the screen)

I don't use digital cameras any more, but I must say, Sigma is making some very attractive kit right now.

You have got to be SierraHotelIndiaTango-ting us. That's the best viewfinder option Sigma could come up with?

Can they make that whole thing any bigger?

The best camera is one that still works!
Size does matter! ^

I can dig it. Few things annoy me as much as getting nose prints on the screen when using a top mount finder.

They should just build a large format camera.
At this level of accessories they are offering the camera will have the usability of LF but still lacking the advantages.
It's just a bit surprising to see this system become even less nimble than it already was.
The IQ is so stellar. It's time for a package that can get the keeper before it has a chance to escape (literally).
That's just me though. I suppose for landscape and still life workers this is a pretty sweet rig.

I rarely use a tripod (maybe 2-3% of the time). I would suspect though that those who use tripods would use this type of setup for landscape work. I remember Jon mentioning he was gonna look into it next time he took his dp Merrill out camping.
If sigma designed these to be magnetic release style, then it becomes the best of both worlds.

Vincenzo.
Considering that this camera will be mounted on a tripod, well for the majority, i like it, very practical for the landscape crowd.
