This gives you an idea of what the Fp can do at iso 4000 with the 17mm Sigma wide open at f4

Hi Shawn, just wanted to thank you for rekindling my interest in the Fp, I actually pulled it from Ebay and have started using it again. I forgot how useful the shading correction is, and also forgot how effective the iso 6 setting is, utterly free of noise and wonderful dynamic range.
I was surprised how little interest there was in the camera, but I kept getting messages about the smallrig grip and cage I had with it. They must have stopped making them.
Now all I have to do is resist the urge to buy an Fp-l....

You are welcome, glad you and agfa100 started posting pictures here too. Thought I was the only person with one of these. Just made a cable release for mine.
They really are quite the little cameras if used where they shine. I keep the 17mm on it and have it the 45mm 2.8 in a tiny Domke bag. I've only used iso 6 a few times so far but that is a very nice feature for long exposures. I saw elsewhere the fp L gains about 1 2/3 stops of DR at ISO 6.
Pretty sure SmallRig did stop making them, I was originally looking for that grip when I got my fp L.
If you are trying to avoid the fp L then whatever you do don't look at Map Camera on ebay.

I passed it last month on a trip to Mackay and it's still there, a DA has been put in for a huge servo but nothing's happened yet.

I used to live at Uki outside Murwillumbah then moved to Glen for a few years and now live on a farm some 40km north.Glen Innes again - I love your photos of these places I know so well.
I love photographing the small country towns and go on a roadtrip every month. Last one was to Mackay and back via two different inland routes, about 3000km. I'll post more.

Decided to try out ISO 6 more today along with a ND4. I love that the Sigma doesn't need to do a dark frame subtraction on long exposures.
ISO 6, f16, 13 seconds, 17mm
ISO 6, f11, 10 seconds, 17mm
ISO 6, f22, 10 seconds, 45mm

Also tried out the Carl Zeiss T* Sonnar 38mm f/2.8 in the wild. These are iso 100.

When I was walking back there was a duck standing at the edge of the waterfall. Thought she was bored but she was keeping an eye on her ducklings below.
This is with the 38mm sonnar and cropped pretty heavily.
My longest lens was just the 45mm so instead of trying for more pictures I decided to give the video function a try and took advantage of the crop zoom feature (2.5x) to get more reach while still getting full resolution 4k video.
Turned out to be fun to watch. Camera was on a tripod opened as a bipod with a ball head and no stabilization in the Sigma. My pans were a bit choppy, Final Cut Pro stabilized them extremely well. This video was cropped a little futher in final cut and exported at 1080p to keep the size down.
That the last duckling didn't leave a sibling behind was cute as was mom's quick 'you good?' glance before back to lunch.
