Sigma fp L with 10-18mm in FF at 10mm 1:1
 
I had the fps a couple of years ago. Loved the images, but finally got tired of the settings changing on their own, the EVF loosening, the over-sensitive wheel...
Though I'm thinking of trying again - there are some really good deals online.

Shawn, this is immensely frustrating for me. I hoped I could put my Leica 11-23mm on my Fp and switch off dc crop in the menu to get similar results to you. But no, the crop is forced. So I tried my sigma 18-50mm dc and got the full circle, which did not fully cover 1:1. So switching off dc crop only works with Sigma lenses.

So much for the L-mount alliance.

I tried the 11-23mm on my S1r and it again forces a crop with no way I can see of switching it off to revert to full frame.
So I could buy a 10-18mm to use on my Fp and get a lo-res ultrwide square image or buy the 10-18mm and an Fp-l as you have done, which adds up. Bugger.
 
I've just downloaded the Fp-l manual and it looks like the 11-23mm might work in full frame unlike the Fp.
How can I prove it....

Yeah, last weekend I tried the 10-18 on my S1R and couldn't disable the crop which I was annoyed at. I prefer the form factor of the 10-18 on the fp L but was thinking the S1R would be nice in low light with the OIS.

The fp L allows you to set the crop (but it goes from FF directly to 1.53x and then more zoom from there) but the only crop lens I have is the 10-18mm so can't try a non-Sigma crop lens.

If you were in the US I'd think a fp L from MPB or KEH that could be returned if it didn't work out but in Australia I don't know. Maybe you could get lucky and find a seller in Japan that has the fp L and the Leica lens and ask them to try the pair?

I will say the combo of the fp L and the 10-18 is *very* fun if you are into square at all.
 
Just tried the 10-18mm on the S1R again. I couldn't disable the crop but I could trick it to show uncropped for a few seconds. It even let me do that in 1x1 mode and take a picture uncropped too. The trick is after it is all on and displaying just very briefly press/release the lens release button. The screen goes black and then it comes back with the uncropped view for a second or two before switching the crop back on.

You can see it here with the lens at 10mm.

If you can make that work with your Leica lens it should at least give you a good idea about coverage in 1x1 full frame on a fp L.

Well, that was fun...
With my S1r I had to press the lens release button in hard to do that. I won't ask how you worked this out.
Anyway my 11-23mm only covers enough from about 14mm, so no point getting an Fp-l just for that, may as well use my 14-28mm panny.
Got me wondering about the Laowa 9mm f5.6 on my S1r for panoramic or square, even though it covers full frame, where is the fun in that.

I've used the Voigtlander 12mm f5.6 for square on the S1R and it does well. With the 10-18 I shoot at 10 or 18mm the most often so the Laowa could be really fun for square. My gut says it might be too wide for panorama. Close in the volume anamorphosis will be really strong on the sides (shooting square mostly hides this) and shooting at a distance the perspective is going to be very odd. Or at least that is what I have found and tend to not go wider than around 20mm when shooting 65:24 mode. I do have a multi-camera panoramic setup that goes much wider but it doesn't have the volume anamorphosis, it renders more like a sweep lens panoramic camera.

This was just a quick snapshot in a tour. Shot at ISO3200 with the 10-18mm. I shot everything in 1x1 but then checked the raw after and liked this one better in 3:2. This is full frame @ 11.9mm and f3.5. The corners are vignetting strongly but it works for this image.
