second is sigma at 800iso

I know there are many parameters involved in scanning the film, like jpg compression, scanner settings, etc...

The little sigmas were the only digital camera to date I have been truly happy with output wise. Specifically for a compact. The Achilles heel (or heels) we all know about so I won't bore anyone.

I hope they (sigma) have worked out some of the functionality kinks because I tend to agree with you, they get about as close to tri-x as I have seen. And I shoot a lot of tri-x.

How did you scan the film? There's a lot of grain/schmutz in the blacks, which i wouldn't expect from a properly exposed/scanned/printed film image.

I used flatbed Epson V300 scanner...It is not the best way I know but It is the cheapest for me. I dont usually print so that is ok for me to digitize my film...
