well some people were saying film has more pronounced grain, of course as it is pushed to 1600iso whereas sigma is taken at 800 iso. Come on people, pixel peepers...

In defense of both the DP1 deals with noise well and gthats a very very grainy Tri-X shot/

The little sigmas were the only digital camera to date I have been truly happy with output wise. Specifically for a compact. The Achilles heel (or heels) we all know about so I won't bore anyone.
I hope they (sigma) have worked out some of the functionality kinks because I tend to agree with you, they get about as close to tri-x as I have seen. And I shoot a lot of tri-x.

Just out of curiosity, what size print would your TriX scan yield, if printed at say 300dpi..

How did you scan the film? There's a lot of grain/schmutz in the blacks, which i wouldn't expect from a properly exposed/scanned/printed film image.

I used flatbed Epson V300 scanner...It is not the best way I know but It is the cheapest for me. I dont usually print so that is ok for me to digitize my film...
