Other Areas Singapore and Malaysia RF Club

LOL. I too am afflicted with GAS. In the past two weeks, I've bought myself a Rolleicord, a Bessa L (with the 25 Skopar), and a Leica Minilux. Oh, and a new 80mm lens for my enlarger. :|

Now thats a familiar face I see! :D

I have no idea why a photo taken of me while i was eating would be interesting! But at least you have seen someone in the group before. ;)

What? Peter touched a Leica? (Terence what have you been up to?)
Once you've touched it, it will linger in your mind....
Give in... give in to the dark side.... ;-)

Oh yes, Peter has been suffering from some GAS attacks recently. I know which camera calls out most strongly to him. :D But somehow for me, after touching many a leica, i still don't feel any desire towards it.

Welcome Tim! Your first rangefinder camera. A new convert and it's a leica! We are a bunch of friendly people. You would feel very much at home here. The RF community in Singapore is small but closely knitted.

Welcome on the forum Tim! :)

Glenn all that film is very very very very tempting! :D Specially when I can make use of all of them!

Wow, that was quick, a good deal too.

I might have a fire sale on my stock since it looks like I'm going off film these days. Only feeding the TX-2 a roll now and then, rest of the time it's the Epson.

hi terence just to satisfy my curiosity, how much r u looking at for you M3 DS? :D

I think I must be pretty bored recently... my mind's been wandering towards red dots...

Tim,
I wouldn't trust gc1 too much on that one.
Yes we are a friendly bunch,
Yes you would feel at home here.
BUT he forgets to mention that we PRODUCE ALOT OF GAS!
and the saddest thing is that GAS is VERY INFECTIOUS!

Welcome and enjoy, looking forward to your picts

Peter
Thanks for thinking of waiting for me for the book.
Unfortunately it is going to be awhile more before I get home.
I'll be back 1 Feb 2006 actually.

Which Leica caught your eye?
M6, MP or M7?
My guess is the MP, don't think you are the aperture priority shooting kind of person, am I right?

Thanks for the welcomes!

er ... what's GAS? Maybe I have it but I don't know!

Welcome,

GAS= Gear Acquisition Syndrome.
The likelihood is that you have it.
The sub-clinical syndrome manifests as constant thinking about, drooling about and dreaming about photo gear.
The full blown syndrome consists of large buying sprees

The Chronic syndrome.... hee hee like most of us here....
consists of watching the classifieds and ebay...for nothing in particular!

It is very infectious, and very difficult to treat.
The prognosis is very grave indeed!

I believe it was either the IIIc or the M6 Classic since those were the only 2 around that morning.

Hiya, email sent...

Tim welcome to the forum & great to meet you in Peninsular Plaza. That goes for Peter, Glenn & Terence too & thanks for your hospitality.

Glenn - thanks for showing me around, especially the visit to Riceball- if one shop in S'pore deserves to do well it's Riceball- IMHO a brave venture in an untested(?) market. Dare I say it- a much better, well thought out selection than Borders' entire photography section

Found space for 20 rolls of XP2 in the kitchen fridge behind the dried mushrooms. Sell you some at cost Suzie?
