Hi Terence, how's the September order coming along?
Terence T
Where'd my Bessa go?
David, not bad... but mostly my stuff, as usual! Closing in a day or two, you need anything? My Ampang friend will need to pick his stuff up so maybe I can send your stuff with him. Should be arriving on my doorstep in the 2nd-3rd week of Sept.

Has anyone around our region been following the news about Hurricane Katrina. It looks to be a really horrible scenario. What am i kidding? It is.
And that's the grim truth of it. http://www.osei.noaa.gov/iod.html The hurricane is expected to hit the island at 7 or 8pm singapore time tonight.
All the major news networks in the United States have focused on this F5 hurricane. There are reports every 1/2 hour on the net.
Here's a graphic detail of the area which i found. http://www.nola.com/hurricane/index.ssf?/washingaway/goingunder.html
All around new orleans, it is surrounded by water and below sea level.
I hope our members there like Natalia have already gotten out.

Test shots with VC 28 Color Skopar
Test shots with VC 28 Color Skopar
Some scans of the 28 Skopar test shots-
(1) & (2) Wide open (that's relative of course) @ f 3.5 & 1/20th (yes, that's possible on a IIIc) at a Novena Sq deli, between munches of chicken sandwich-
(3) Scott's Rd building now housing an upmarket beauty salon. Somewhat overcast lighting. f 5.6
(4) ? Sorry, can't remember name of building- but Glenn was there. Ambitiously handheld at 1/15th & f3.5
The scans were made at 4m pixels per inch on a Nikon 5000 ED, full frame.
I've resized the images to what I think are reasonably small files for posting. Unmanipulated except for some colour correction for fluorescent/ tungsten. No sharpening, histogram work, curves etc
The full sized 28 fidner is bright, clear, distortion free (as one might expect). Scratches my glasses though.
I'll post some people pics when I get round to scanning the BW400CN test rolls. All in all the Skopar is dead easy to use, nicely made & small- but it's a bit SLOW..
Cheers

Thanks David!
The results from the lens look very sweet...
Just wondering if the extra bulk and price from the 28/1.9 is worth it at all, before I finally jump in...

Where'd my Bessa go?
I'd say yes, especially for the extra stops. The size is quite similar to the 35/1.7 if you've seen that one before.

Maybe a CV 75 to tide you over?
Might be a good way to overcome Leica GAS.

I do believe that the last picture was of Adelphi shopping centre. The last one turned out pretty well.
The first 2 turned out nicely too.
