Siskind's work coming to the AIC

My wife and I were finally able to get to the Siskind show at the AIC. Two thumbs up! Wonderful to view and very informative about his work, influences, and Abstract Expressionism. I'm considering pursuing a different genre, and that's one I particularly enjoy. We especially appreciated the many quotes by Siskind, as he explained his approach to photography. The show leaves in mid-August and I'll definitely go again.

Yeah I thought it was terrific. One of my good buds and old college professors got his MFA from RISD and was taught by Siskind and Callahan.

Did you use the Josephson exhibit at the Dater gallery?

Also if you get a chance real good friend has an exhibit at the Harold Washington Library through May on the 9th floor. I shot the big street portrait of him for the exhibit and also here

No, I haven't gotten to the Josephson show yet. I did see the show at the library right after your initial alert, and enjoyed it very much. That's been quite a long show.

I've been exploring abstraction as a possible new direction (a few on the tumblr). I'm finding the alleys of the Loop pretty rich. Not sure I'll stick with it, but this break from inserting myself into the lives of strangers has been refreshing. And the MM works very nicely for it.
