Slr?

Like Francisco, with his recent F100 purchase, I have lately been hearing the siren song of the SLR's. Prices have been very tempting, especially since Nikon stopped (most) SLR production coupled with the pullout of film companies.

I have been thinking of getting a "last hurrah" SLR body. A once unaffordable, "this is the best film SLR I am going to have, and will see me to the end of film" camera.

Anyone else with these thoughts?

Anyone bought one?

Well, when I was first getting into serious photography, the ultimate cameras to have were the Leica M series or the Nikon F (the Photomic FTN was the one I lusted). I settled for a Mamiya SD (like I use now) at first and then a Pentax Spotmatic over the Nikon.

Well, as we know, Leica prices are still relatively high, but used Fs seem to pop up now at very low prices. I'm not gonna go looking for one, but if one comes along at the right price at the right time, I might go for it just for the sake of doing it.

Of course then I would have to get lenses and ... :)

I decided on the S3-2000 as my last hurrah for a film camera.

I use a Nikon F2AS as my main "shooter" SLR. And The F2a. Nikon Ftn Photomic. I also have an F3HP, but don't use it as much. I should sell the Mint FE2.
