Sorry if this has been covered (couldn't find it in the search), but I currently have the Canon 35 f2 ltm which is non-tabbed and curious what else is out there in the compact 35mm non-tabbed world (ideally with 0.7m min focus). Been eyeing the zeiss zm 35mm 2.8 and cv ultron f2...what else is out there 🙂 Thanks in advance!

The Zeiss doesn't have a tab but does have that built-in bump.

I believe the VC knobs are removable? Same on the Hexanon 35/2 and the older style LTM Konica has no tab.

The Voigtländer Color-Skopar 35/2.5 in its LTM "P-Type" variant has no tab and a very short focus throw (unfortunately focuses only down to 0.9m).

Oh yeah! I forgot about that lens! Hmmmm, bummer it only does 0.9m...forgot to mention that in my original post. It does sound like the sharpness wide open would be a bit more even than my canon, which is pretty sharp in the center, but mid/edges are so so.

I'm ok with the bump, it's just that after several years with my 35 cron asph...realizing i still prefer focusing with the barrel vs a tab 😛 (I do still love that lens though)

Yes, my friend had the 35 ultron for a while and he just unscrewed the post. That lens is probably the most likely candidate for now, but we'll see.

The Canon 35mm f2 LTM lens is TINY and has no tab, just a regular knurled metal focusing ring. On top of that, the lens is very sharp. Downside is they're harder to find and kind of expensive.

Hey Chris! I actually do have the Canon 35 f2 ltm hehe. I've been using it more and more these days, though i do wish it was 0.7 m min focus and it does tend to front focus a bit wide open. But yeah, i just wanted to see what other options are out there. I really like the ergonomics/size of that lens!
