Elmars unfortunately don't collapse on the CL.
The Hexanon 50/2.4 does though, and is a great lens.

In non-collapsible lenses, the Leica Summarit 50/2.5 is very small but the Voigtländer 50/2.5 is a little smaller.
Both have focus tabs and handle pretty well, IMHO.

The new Lomo Zenit Jupiter 3+ is also very small, about as small as the Nikkor 50 f/2. Plus, you get f/1.5 wide open.

If you want a really small lens try a Chiyoko Super-Rokkor 45mm 2.8 in LTM. Here's one next to a Voigtlander 50mm 2.5 LTM with adapter.

This^^^^. It is really compact, shorter than an Elmar 50 when extended.

The Nikkor-Q.C 50/3.5 rigid is slimmer than the CV 50/2.5 Skopar, but the Skopar is shorter. And the Skopar is a modern production lens that comes in black to match your CL.

If you ignore the base caps and the lens hood, the Voigtlander is shorter.
Which is very cool considering it is a faster and longer lens.
The CV 50 2.5 is the answer.

Actually, the CLE 40 is even shorter than the CV 50/2.5. So if you don't have to have exactly 50, any of the 3 40/2 variants is the best way to go.

The Leitz Elmar 35 is shorter still. Then there's the chrome Canon 28 ...
