What is the smallest Canon EOS film camera? I'd like to buy a camera for the 40mm f/2.8 lens I have but don't want the bigger heavy pro or prosumer bodies--I have a Nikon F4 for that. Nikon has those tiny F75's. Does Canon have something similar?

EOS 300. I only wish FF DLSR could be this size.
It has AV, TV and M modes.

All cameras on this image are sold or crapped out like XA. EOS 300 and FED-2 are still with me.
EOS 300 is flawless after twenty years of use.

EOS 300x/Rebel T2/EOS Kiss 7 is the one you want. Perfect fit with the 40mm 2.8, and was the last film SLR introduced by Canon.

The 3000 is very small I have one somewhere problem with that age of Eos cameras is getting one that the foam that the shutter bumps against hasn't started to turn into a sticky mess that stops the shutter working you can clean it but it will keep coming back and a proper fix is not economic. I've had better luck with later Eos bodies like the 5 not as small but much lighter than the F4.

Pretty small...

I agree. I had most of the small EOS cameras, 500 - 500N, 300 etc..

The early models (500, 500N, 5000 and 300) develop sticky shutters.

By far the most satisfying, trouble free and with better AF response and mirror lag is the 300V.

How would you compare the Ti and T2? Someone gave me a EOS Rebel but has LCD bleed on the inside LCD screen. I can adjust on the top LCD fine though. I bought a Ti for less than $4.00 USD. Should be tiny like the T2?

Just a note - the EOS 500N is known as the Rebel G in the United States and as the Kiss in Japan.

Smallest would be the Canon EOS IX, the APS film camera. All of the EOS lenses work nicely on it. But of course, finding APS film and processing isn't really practical any more ... :)

Thanks Pan! It was indeed an odd beast, I wanted to try it out to use adapted manual Rollei QBM Zeiss lenses, but the one I bought off Ebay was deader than a parrot in a Monty Python sketch.

I can’t see how it is impossible to mount manual focusing lens via adapter on EF mount. I did it.
Regular Rebel is still better for it with focus confirmation chip on adapter.
The model you were asking had split mirror, it is darker in VF, plus stepped down lens aperture.
