Olympus XA vs. Contax T
Olympus XA vs. Contax T
I have both cameras. Though the same size as the Olympus XA,
the Contax T is far heavier; too heavy to keep in a pocket at all times...

I own both the Minox DCC Leica M3 4mp and 5mp. True, it is not a true RF because there is no image overlay through the tiny viewfinder but the tiny viewfinder does function as one, complete with paralax error. It is not necessary to compose photos using the LCD screen.

>>How does the lens on the Olympus XA compare to this one?
I don't own the Contax, but I have owned the XA since it was new... and the lens is not that sharp, at least mine never was. It is a fine camera (really well designed... and amazingly futuristic for the time), but the lens is only ok. 8x12" prints are fine, but nothing to wow you... good enough to still be serious. The lens also seems to fall off at both ends more than most cameras... and f5.8 seems to be the sweet spot. Defraction seems noticable at f11 and horrible at f16... and it soft at both f2.8 and f4... but still usable. My Minox GL and Epic Stylus both smoke it for IQ... though I have shot many good photos with the XA... hope that helps. I've always wanted the Contax, haven't stumbled across one for a good price yet...

oh yeah... and the XA RF is tiny and dim (even new)... so scale focus with my Minox is much less frustrating...

That's a beautiful camera!
How does the lens on the Olympus XA compare to this one?
XA (Zuiko 35/2.8):

Never used a Contax T, but I had a Rollei 35S with Sonnar HFT 40/2.8 lens... I like the Zuiko better.
