Sneaky (cat!)

Do I recall that he came from a house full of stoners? If so, maybe he still has the munchies from all the dope he mudt have passive-smoked?

My son, Mack, who is a software developer for a local web application company, has been working from home a lot because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This afternoon, I found him on the sofa with his laptop, working. Our cat, Sneaky, was cuddled up to him, sleeping!

Sneaky will tell you that he was hard at work, being a cat, the whole time; and that his work is SO much more exhausting than computer programming!

yes of course.

our neighbor's cat recently likes to do the very exhausting "RRW" (remote rat watching) in our garden. to me it looks suspiciously like napping, but what do I know of cat businesses.
usually, afterwards he proudly turns to us, expecting some reward for his successful hunting (he never catches anything).

thanks again for the pictures, always a highlight!
and best regards to both Mack and Sneaky.

cheers,
sebastian

That's awesome that the neighbor's cat demands food from you for NOT catching mice in your yard! hahaha

Sneaky actually killed a lot of stuff when I first took him in two year ago, but about a year ago he stopped. He decided that his human slaves were now fully under his control and no longer needed to be appeased with dead mice.

Sometimes he will wake up, demand food, then go back to sleep for several hours and then demand MORE food after doing literally NOTHING but sleep!

Chris, he sounds and looks like a happy, fulfilled cat!

I can't believe that you have had him for two years, though. I was thinking that it was only about a year.

He first wandered into my yard one night in November, 2018. Don't remember the exact day but its been about two years!

He's been eating more and losing weight lately, I think he may have worms again. He' going to the vet Monday to be checked out and to get his rabies shot updated.

Sneaky spent most of the night sleeping in this basket of my son's shirts that had just been washed. He did get up about halfway through the night just long enough to demand food, which I provided.

He then demanded to go outside, which I refused because earlier in the night I had to go out and break up a fight that Sneaky had started with another cat. He had been looking out the kitchen window after he ate, and I think he planned on some more night-time thuggery.

His desire to go out and kick ass having been thwarted, he went back to the laundry basket and slept the rest of the night.

A couple weeks ago, we bought Sneaky a cat tree! I thought he would love it, but he refuses to have anything to do with it. Today, he finally jumped up in the little 'house' on the cat tree. He was only there a few minutes though; my photographing him annoyed him and he left.

Chris, give Sneaky time to get used to the new cat tree.

I'm on the third one for Joey. The first two weren't robust enough for a big cat, so they eventually got all floppy. But Joey loved to jump up there and sleep on the top platform, even though he was really too big for it.

Finally, I looked for a heavy duty cat tree and found one. Unfortunately, Joey would have nothing to do with it. He jumped up on it a couple of times and then left it alone. After TWO months, he finally decided to try it out again, and within a short time he took to the new tree with the bigger, more comfortable bed. Now he loves it.

seems that sneaky reads interesting literature.
very cute picture, i agree. thanks for sharing.

Wonderful photos. Like the ancient Egyptians, who considered cats like gods, I am a total cat lover and have had cats all my life; some have lived into their 20's.

They all have their unique and wonderful personalities and often have little games they invent and play with their human companions.

Sneaky likes to sleep on books. Maybe the knowledge absorbs through his skin? :D

I love cats too. Sneaky thinks its a shame that the ancient Egyptian religion died out. They really had it right! :p

Early this morning, around 4am, Sneaky was trying to guilt me into feeding him again. He was actually sitting in a bag of cat food cans that I bought a couple days ago!

Mack is lucky. Sneaky doesn't insist on sitting on the keyboard.
That's what my neighbor's cat likes to do.

Supervising is one of the things that cats do best!

One of Sneaky's favorite things to do. He can even do the work in his sleep!

Sneaky never does that, but he has jumped on my lap a few times recently and attacked my computer's mouse while I was trying to edit photos! He hasn't killed a mouse in over a year now, so I guess I should be glad he's attacking some sort of mouse, even if it is not quite the right kind!

Sneaky has started to get in his cat tree sometimes. I made this photo a few nights ago. He was pissed off at me for putting ear mite medicine in his ears, which he HATES.
