Sneaky was growing concerned about the near-famine conditions in our home. We were down to just 5 cans of cat food, so I went shopping last night and bought 40 cans (about a two day supply, in Sneaky's opinion!).
As soon as I put one of the bags on the counter, he jumped up there and stared at me with his "SLAVE! Feed me, NOW!" look. He had eaten steak for dinner an hour earlier; I told him he needed to wait a while for more food.
That is one well-fed cat!
He always looks really fat in the winter; its mostly fluff. Still, he is very well fed. 🙂
And well-groomed! His coat is beautiful, especially for a long-hair. How is Sneaky with brushing? Our kitty, also long-haired, tends to develop matted spots. She'll tolerate brushing for a while, but suddenly decides she's had enough. Then, all hell breaks loose!
When I first got a long-haired cat (a 10-year old, rescued and from the animal shelter), it would shed lots of long black hair and, worse, would gag on it. What I at first thought was poop on the carpet turned out to be these huge hair-sausages. The fur would mat as well.
For about a year, I would take the cat in for a “lion trim” to reduce the amount of long fur. It looks both cool and silly. What made me stop doing that, besides the cost, was that they’d have to sedate the cat - I didn’t think that was good for the long term. Anyway, the solution was to get him a special diet (Iam’s) to prevent fur balls. That worked.
Sneaky is such a beautiful cat. The photos of him are wonderful.
But I don’t think Sneaky is really demanding - it’s all just conditioned reflex: he knows that if he waits long enough and doesn’t eat anything else, steak will arrive.
That’s true. I was trying to be diplomatic 🙂Well, who has the "conditioned reflex"? I think Sneaky has Chris conditioned to give him steak, pronto, whenever he gives him the "Hungry Sneaky" look. …
Sneaky is a beautiful pussycat.
My own Leo is a cat-type person too. I have tremendous admiration & repect for his character & intelligence. Since the two of us live alone, Leo and I can get pretty bored at times. Then it's playtime !!! The rules of our little game are simple: I try to tie his tail in a knot, and he tries to completely eviscerate my arm. What fun! Leo, however, knows that when I have to step out for a minute to go to the hospital, our game is finished for the day.
