"Cats" and "work ethic" are not things I associate with each other, ever. As I write this, our cat is "working" at her favorite pastime, a nap in front of the wood stove. She is NOT to be disturbed!

Sneaky has spent most of the day engaged in the same form of labor. He USED to kill things about once a week; this went on for the first year that he was here, then he got lazy.
My grandpa had a meanass cat named Molly who CONSTANTLY murdered other animals. Several a day! Over the nearly 20 years that she lived, she killed more than 9000 mice, moles, chipmunks, rabbits, and snakes. She is known to have killed two full-grown Eastern Massassagua RATTLESNAKES! These are a small rattlesnake, about two feet long, but very deadly to a cat if one bites.

I recall a fairly nice photobook titled "Cats at Work".
Unfortunately, at that time I was a financially disabled student and didn't buy it.

She was the Hitler of the mouse world.
There is actually a graphic novel about the Holocaust in which all of the Nazis are cats and all of the Jews are mice. Its called Maus, and was written by Art Spiegelman. Spiegelman is an American Jew whose parents survived Auschwitz and emigrated to the USA after the war. Maus tells their story.

And that graphic novel is currently being banned in school systems around the country. It seems that the story of the Holocaust makes some political factions a bit uncomfortable, perhaps hitting a little too close to home? Next come the book burnings, and after that....

Cameras. I has it.
It’s unfortunate that many types of animals are sometimes anthropomorphised by entertainment media way too much.
Cats, even domesticated, still retain their instincts that enable them to survive in the wild, which is why they stalk, chase, and kill. A domesticated cat as it gets older and more comfortable and feels secure about its safety and food supply, will likely reduce its predatory behavior.
At some point, this sense of security and comfort can reach a level where the cat trains humans to deliver it exquisite food. If the cat reaches a point where it is ordering things online, you are doomed.

Sneaky would empty my bank account buying food if he knew how to order online.

Late last night my son was sitting at his computer working on a picture for one of the aerospace companies that he does illustrations for.
He got up for about 30 seconds to look at a cat video I was watching on my computer, and while he was out of his seat, Sneaky jumped on his chair and refused to move when Mack returned! Mack ended up moving his chair to the side, with the cat still on it, then getting another chair for himself to sit on so he could finish his work.
Sneaky stayed on the chair until Mack went to bed about an hour later!

You make the mistake of referring to Mack's chair as "his". Everything in your house is Sneaky's; he's just generous enough to let you borrow it. That is, as long as the steak and chicken keep coming...

Yes, the cat was just asserting dominance. I guess I should be glad that he hasn't tried to spray us yet!

Last night, I took a shower. I stepped out of the bathtub to find Sneaky laying beside the tub like this! He watched me dry off, staring in fascination the whole time. After I got dressed, I got my camera and photographed him; he had not moved!
He does this to me every time I shower, and he also loves watching people pee and poop. Earlier yesterday, Sneaky saw me heading to the bathroom to pee; and he FLEW in past me and jumped on the top of the toilet tank to watch.
Nudity fascinates Sneaky.

He’s just trying to figure out the best morsels to eat first, after he decides you’re just food!

My cat joins me in the shower every morning. She sits on the edge of the tub, drinks off my fingertips, and swipes at the droplets, getting soaked in the process. And she loves it! But she absolutely refuses to join my partner. There is no comprehending cat behavior, but that's why we love them.

LOL. A few months ago, he attacked MY BALLS when I was drying off after a shower. I was drying off my legs, and Sneaky kept playing with the ends of the towel that were dangling. Suddenly, he jumped up and took a swipe at my testicles! He didn't make me bleed, but he scratched them and I jumped so high I nearly hit the ceiling!

My cat Sharky (who passed on 2 yrs ago at 15) used to jump in the tub several times a day to demand a drink from the cold faucet, he wouldn't drink from his dish if I was home. Some cats enjoy water, others run from it, each one different it seems; and some sit for the camera, and others run from it too.

Cute kitty. My cat doesn't mind water. One time he came in the house smelling disgusting. He had sprayed something outside and gotten it in the thick fur on his back end. I took him to the basement and held his butt under running water till the urine was all rinsed out of his fur! He he never squirmed or tried to bite or scratch. Just let me run water over him.

Last night, I was sitting on the sofa and Sneaky curled up on my lap and slept there for almost two hours! He always cuddles up to me when I sit on the sofa but he rarely lays on my lap; usually he cuddles up next to me.
I made a short video (about 30 seconds) too.
