I just got word that our office is closing at noon due to an apparent blizzard we're experiencing.. I can't confirm the snow, since I work in a windowless office, but it must be nasty if our office is closing.. this sort of thing happens about once every 3 or 4 years

the irony is that bad weather means it might be a good day for me to go shooting as I rarely get the opportunity to be outside during sunlight hours on a weekday

I think I'll put some b&w film in the Kiev, slap on the J12 and head out

It stopped here in Milwaukee about an hour ago. Super-duper slippery though since it was very wet and came down FAST!!

Yup ... uphill both ways, with your head tilted back to keep your nose above the snow level so you could breathe. 😀

... for ten miles, fight'n off wolves with a stick... And We Liked IT!

This year I saw for the second time in my life snow falling from the sky here in Portugal...
😀

Too bad I didnt have a camera with me on both ocasions! :|

To get a little Pythonesque ... you had a stick ... luxury!

LOL.. I haven't heard that one in a LONG time.. guess I need to dig out my MP cds!

as for the weather.. it's the worst I've seen around here for at least 10 years.. traffic on the highway, at least those not in the ditch, averaged 4 mph.. the drive home took me an hour.. normally it takes me 5 minutes

I offered to drive a coworker home who lives a mile from me.. she was soooo happy because she wouldn't have gotten home otherwise.. there were at least 6 people in the office whose cars are now embedded in a major snowdrift.. they looked at me incredulously as I said I'd have no trouble getting home.. thanks to my Audi with AWD and snowtires.. and yep, I pulled right out of the lot in a foot of snow

I could go out and take some photos now.. but if I did that, I'd just end up pushing an endless supply of cars out of snowbanks.. guess I'll stay here and work on the RFF book

here's a sample of what we've gotten in the last 12 hours.. there was absolutely zero snow yesterday.. hard to tell by this image, but we've got snowdrifts about 3 feet high in areas

That's some snow, Brett! I'm jealous -- we had a modest covering of wet stuff that is mostly melted away.

So, time for you to put some logs on the fire, pour a brandy, cue some great music, and finish off that book! 😀

yep, I got her home safe and sound.. she's not green eyed, or a redhead... but she's actually got an extremely photogenic face.. someday I'll have to insist on doing some portraits of her

I know I'm starting to sound like a whiner about this storm (altho I'm tucked away at home now, with no worries) but it's so bad out that my cellular service isn't even working

What??? No Cell Service??? THE HORROR!!! What will a young whippersnapper like yourself DO? You'll have to exist (it's not living, right?) as your parents did before you... 'cept for the power to your PC, your internet connection, etc. But at least you've got a stick. Luxury. 😀 😛

It was about 50 degrees f here yesterday, Brett. Now your snow is here and coming down as sheets of rain. That will be turning to snow later today. Which means we'll have a good base of ice for the snow to rest on. The roads are going to be ugly. And I don't expect a very busy day at work today and the dinner rush tonight won't be much either. 🙁
