Some wonderful portraits in his book Sittings 1979-1983. Anthony Powell sits facing left, turned towards the camera, very intent and serious, as his white cat extends from the wing of his chair almost to the floor, as he leaps down his as the shutter is tripped.

I always thought that he made a cameo appearance in the Beatles film" A Hard Days Night " lf not, then a very good look-a-like did.
