So, are you getting enough?

I actually get to shoot nearly every day at least a few considered frames. It is the darkroom that I don't get enough time for, especially once students start handing stuff in. Finally got proofsheets done today, had 55 rolls to proof since late September. Sent the color films to the lab today, 16 rolls this month.

Oh, hell - I just loaded the SW with Fomopan 100 and the 18f4 Distagon! Boy, being semiretired is streesful some days!

I'm not shooting anything today as I had cataract surgery this AM on my left eye. Ironically, I'm left-eyed. So that's why I'm hanging around RFF today.

I tried looking through my Bessa R just now with my right eye. At first it was amazingly awkward; through decades of habit I kept lifting the camera and lining up the viewfinder with my left eye. Oops. But after wandering around the house and yard for a time I could see that I could make the switch (in case something goes awry).

Had the surgery on my right eye last month and am now back to 20/20 with it.
Will wonders never cease...

PS: Four rolls in the darkroom awaiting my presence. Nothing says I can't develop film with one eye, right?
 
There have been times when I think the 9-5 routine sometimes afforded me more time to get out there with the cameras. Not that I miss those days much, but the sometimes crazy-quilt schedule of the freelance life can knock the starch out of any other pursuits (where "not getting enough" becomes "not gettin' any" pretty fast, and on more than one plane).

Put plainly, you have to somehow make time for what's important, be it family, friends, or important personal pursuits. It helps a bit to keep those pursuits to a low number. I can write, and, I'm told, can hold a tune pretty well, but the Great American Novel and American Idol will have to wait.😉

Speeding on my bikes between tech gigs, the camera that gets tossed in the kit bag (actually stays there much of the time) is the new-ish Casio EX-Z850 digital, which is allowing me to get used to its controls and exposure options (and runs Saturn-like rings around my Olympus D-510 in so many ways...and much smaller, too). I'm working on getting my Ricoh GR1 fixed so's to have a serious WA pocket film-burner alongside. this is how "getting a little more" gets done. 🙂

This thread is getting so pitiful its funny.

My boss was giving me a hard time yesterday about my upcoming 50th birthday and that I probably needed a walker among other things.

I replied I already have a monopod that functions quite well as a cane.

I tried locking the wife in the kitchen once....Turns out they keep knives in there.
