At the camera show today I spied an M3 w/ serial over 1,000,000 Wasn't planning on buying any new bodies, but I wanted to see it. Asked to look, they brought out. Nice shape, no missing vulcanite, clear VF, no serious marks, just a little wear from age and usage....shutter speeds sounded fine...not even the infamous "meter marks" on the top plate. I asked the price.....$495!!!! Thought quickly and realized my only reason to purchase would be to re-sell at a profit. I have a 35 Lux on my M2...and MP 0.85 for the 50 and 75mm lenses. Turned to my buddy who's been shopping for an M6 and said "Buy this now". He did.....I feel as if I'm in mourning....

you are very generous.
better your buddy getting a deal than someone else.
the law of karma still applies.

Oh well...I did pick up a nice copy of Weston's Mexican Daybooks printed by Eastman House for $20.00 At least I still have money in account.....

I say, "Good for you!" How great that you turned your friend onto a great camera at a great price than to, instead, merely seek some relatively minimal financial gain. The world would be a better place if more thought the way you did. Rather than be in mourning, you should be rejoicing. And your friend should thank you by buying the first round!
