I'm sure this has already happened to you... returning home from work and finding the leaflet you've been hoping to see for days, saying approximatively :

"your item has arrived but you were not present so it'll be available to the post office opened mon-fri 8:00am - 6:00pm"

... and of course you find the leaflet friday evening, 7:30pm...

all this to say that my collapsible pre-war 50/2 Zeiss Sonnar has made it from Oregon to Prague, Czech Republic, it's about 200 meters away from home at the local post office, who is *NOT* opened on saturday mornings. Two more days of torture!!! :bang:

I'm so excited!! :D

I can certainly sympathize.

Fortunately, here the PO is open on Saturday AM. :)

Even better, I have a "package delivery room" in my condo complex so it takes deliveries when I am not home - and it is open until 8PM! :D

I've had that happen more times than I care to remember and it's pure agony spending the weekend thinking about it.

My sympathies and I hope you survive until Monday! :(

Once I bought an item online and paid the extra for the next day delivery (should be delivered Wednesday) and got the usual note from the courier about a missed delivery(a call of nature no less). :(

So I got the card and called the delivery company to arrange for me to pick it up later from the warehouse about 20 miles away but not that far from my works office. I arrived at the delivery wearehouse to find that the 'driver' was going to try and deliver it again the following day (Thursday). I had meetings all day on Thursday

Leaving a message with the company to relay to the 'driver' to leave the item at the warehouse the following day I went home.

Leaving work to go to the delivery wearehouse I got the same message that the 'driver' has taken the item and will deliver the following day (Friday).

Working from home on the Friday, no delivery. Note on the monday to say item failed delivery could I pick it up. Got it on the Tuesday.... broken!. :bang:

There are many horror stories of package delivery and mis-delivery! Including receiving an empty box from which the item has been stolen along the way, and finding your missing package under a bush in Spring after the snow melts... marked "Adult Signature Required"!

I think George has the solution: arrange deliveries to a place where there's always going to be someone present to accept it. I rent a box at The UPS Store 2 blocks away; problem solved.

Hey, I'm still snapping :)

Most of us get the cruddy end of the stick from time to time. I'll not order online from the same store again and have sent a complaint to the delivery service.

I don't mind paying a tad extra if I get to see the person I might have to talk to should any problems happen. Problem is with so many local places closing online is becoming the only option to many of us.

darkkavenger, I hope you should have more luck as it's the real mail system. Just think twice before using Daves' Dodgey Delivery Couriers of Blighty UK, they must have an upper IQ limit for there staff that aint too high.

I have my RF, I have my lenses and I have film. I have my health thank God. Gonna put em all to good use I recon. :)

It's saturday morning, 11:45am... I look at the sky... one more morning before I can get the pack at the local post office! *shudders*
