Does the image have merit, or is it just a post processing horror?

I've always liked the idea of converting photo images to something more 'painterly'. I haven't done much of it, but it seems like with the right image it could produce something very enjoyable to look at. These are a nice intro to the idea, Frank. Keep them coming; I'd like to see what your exploration comes up with. Thanks for posting them.

I definitively like them. If I were playing with one of these tools I would be afraid that eventually they might become a bit repetitive but I like them. In fact I like more the first pictures which look more drawings and less photographs.

Interesting effect! It would probably work best with minimalist type images. If overused, however, it may evoke responses akin to those caused by overexposure to the theme song of Disney's "It's a Small World" ride.

It's interesting, but personally not to my taste. Then again, I have little room to talk.

Keep working at it though, there may be something more to come of it. Never hurts to experiment, that's how new things are discovered. Thanks for posting.

Not really my thing to be truthful, but at least you're having fun, which is the main thing 🙂

(Funny enough, back in the day, I used to experiment in the darkroom with different techniques and processes, such as solarization, etc. Not too dissimilar I guess except that it used to take me hours to get images looking right when nowadays software will do the same thing and much much more in a matter of split seconds...)

I missed these before. I like the first and third myself. Especially the first. Not so keen on the others.

I imagine these printed insanely BIG, on a wall.
A pass through Illustrator should do it. Vectorized.

The composition of the first three is really strong and those work well ... the third one particularly is classic. The others less so and those look more of a gimmick.

Anyway it's nice to see you're embracing your yin Frank 😉
