Yes, I do use a soft release both on the M2 and the CL. I would use one on the Bessa L and R as well but I don't have any spare soft releases lying about. And at $15 each from Stephen Gandy, they're not quite cheap.

I use Nikon AR-1 Soft Releases on my Nikon F2 and F cameras with metering heads. The "soft release" extends the release into a more comfortable position.

On other cameras, the Leica's, Nikon RF's, Retina's, and Canon's: I find the camera's original release quite comfortable.

6am, it takes me a little while to get out of the gutter.

Well, I guess I will vote, I am a hard man.

I have a softie, but I don't like it. Not a good idea on a Bessa R, the battery will drain if the shutter button is touched, and I can take it or leave it on my other cameras.

No. It would be nice to try one though. It has happened that I've mistaken the shutter speed dial for the release on my M4-P when I'm wearing gloves and am in a hurry, the extra height might help with that. 🙂

In football a clogger is known as a "hard man". I was a creative when I played but in camera terms I'm a clogger. As I pointed out in the other thread I'm worried about the camera firing in the bag or inadvertently in some other way.

I would've picked"not yet" were that a choice. I like the ones on Mr. Gandy's web site but they are a little pricey. I have put out some subtle hints to my near and dear(I printed the page amd magneted it to a few refridgerators)
