Soft Release

Not sure what happened, Tom. One day, the release know would rotate smoothly anymore, and sometimes got stuck.
 
The one in the picture is a Classic - the larger diameter. None of those left. Tuulikki says that she has a couple of the Mini's left. Also check with Stephen Gandy at Cameraquest.com. He might have some still.
 
Shipping to greece is outrageous in these shops :S
It will cost me around 50Euros for a single softie.
I will go to Skiadopoulos shop you link tomorrow and ask. (he is my personal favourite)

btw you don't link to the skiadopoulos webstore and they have a webstore now, i can send you the link if you are interested.
 
I have a Mini for my Canon P and a Classic for my Canonet. What I would really like is one with thicker thread for my two Pentax LX, my Pentax 645 and my Hasselblad 500CM.

I have a mini soft release on my RD1 and quite like the 'feel' it adds to the shutter button. I'm now wanting a couple more for other cameras. Is it possible to get them here in the UK?
 
I love Tom's softies. I have 10 if not more. I even have them on rolleiflex and hassy 50x cameras.
It becomes a habit after a while.
 
after a long time with the classic softies I got a mini (the rff-version) from Tom and Tuulikki and now I find myself using the mini one most of the time! =)
 
Tom does your soft release fit leica CL's? I bought a fotodiox one but apparently the threads are too long and it locks the winder. I have to leave it a bit loose in order to use it which is kinda pointless since it wobbles around.
 
It does work on th CL/CLE - I would recommend the Mini though. Smaller diameter. The CL has a different release shaft than the M. I can adjust the thread on it - or you can do it yourself by filing down the "pip" at the bottom.

What are the chances of making another batch of RFF softies available to us newbies to rangefinders and the forum? They seemed quite popular while they lasted.
 
Stephen and we talked about it. IF we do it it would have on of the other designs on it and be done in red.
There need to be at least 100 orders for it to make it worthwhile though. It is not on the horizon at the moment - but possibly later this spring.

Well, I would order at least two. That would only leave 98 orders :)

Thank You Tom! I will probably just do it myself as I am stationed in Bahrain currently. Buying now.
 
C'mon fellas! AND Ladies! -- if 46 more people ordered 2, or 92 ordered just 1 soft release, Tom would have his minimum orders.

46 more orders of 2 would sweeten it!!! ;)
