^^^ Thanks Raid , it's been so long since I used it last , that I found out my only eyepiece adapter was for a camera I no longer own ! So nothing on film (but I'm sure I'd have spent too long screwing around with the camera and would've missed most of the eclipse ) . Peter

Corvallis, OR. Lucked out and clouds were absent. Used my Nikon D700 and a Sigma 400/5.6. All went well except for the fact I couldn't find the cable release! Ugh. Images came out....acceptable in some cases. Not acceptable in others. All due to camera motion because I had to press the button with my finger.
But. What An Experience! The family is planning for the next. Texas 2024 perhaps?

I left the telephoto stuff to my hubby and took photos of the folks who were in the little turn-off where we watched it.
The coolest thing? My best friend from kindergarten, Pat Pink, was there. We haven't seen each other in over forty years!!!

The sky was actually darker than that. Autoexposure made it lighter. It wasn't totally dark, though. It was like dusk. There was still enough light to walk.

Great idea not to focus on the sun/moon.
No longer in the US...but the whole country seems to have gone crazy for this. I'm indifferent.
