what to do next?
nothing?
buy the new 23?
buy a used x100?
buy a new x100? ($999. locally)
buy a new x100s?
i had and liked an x100 before...i wonder if the x100s is 'much' improved over the plain x100? enough to warrant getting it?

wait for the x-pro2. it'll probably have all of the improvements of the x100s.

Well with the new firmware update for the X100 out on Tuesday probably well worth seeing how that pans out I guess. Supposed 20% increase in AF speed + many other goodies.

Put it away for a second hand RX-1. There are sure to be a few on the market once FF Nex comes out.

i always use the x-e1 and rarely the x-pro1...thought i'd rather get the 23/1.4...but now thinking about other possibilities, like the x100s/x100 or even the x-m1 with zoom.

Outside of the xe1 do u have another digital camera, like the rx100. For me it is always about two digital camera when I am out taking pictures someplace a long way from home that I don't go to very often. Not having a second camera can be a bummer if the only camera I have along starts acting up..
So unless u still have the rx100, if it was me, I would not buy just the 23f1.4 by itself.

i am down to 1 camera...the x-e1 only.
unless i change mind (again) i think i will get the x-m1 with the zoom...less $$ than even a new x100...a zoom lens that starts at 24 which is my preferred 'ultra' wide (even over a 21) and it would be a great kit with the 27.

I'd say put the money away, wait for something to appear that you really want.

This, and 23 f/1.4. That extra stop is lovely on APS-C.

I notice you seem to buy/sell cameras like its going out of style...something I myself would find stressful and inefficient. If I were you I'd pick one thing and stick to it for a while.
No offense intended.

I'd definitely get the Fuji XF 23mm f/1.4, and start saving up for the Fuji X-Pro2

Jeez Joe,seems you just don't know what you want anymore. You've already stated you're not a zoom type of guy (said that many times actually),stated that you have the 3 lenses that you need, stated that you're finally happy with your camera choices, stated that you found the bags that were everything you needed, then everything changes.
Whats wrong with the Xpro? since the latest firmware upgrade, focusing has been improved a lot.Faster with all lenses. Why do you need an X100? you just said all you use is the XE-1.
I don't know Joe.You're all over the place with your thinking.Maybe save the money for when that temporary job ends.May do you more good than a difference of 4mm in your lens line up.I'm sure you can move back the equivalent of 4mm.
Of course, this is just my opinion, but you ask for opinions.

the xm1 seems to be a pointless choice with the zoom. They kind of negate each other right?
I would go the 23.

Given u are down to one camera... I would buy a used x100 w/ serial number past the shutter blade related problem. Pocket the change for other things.
While I think the xm1 w/ the 27 is a great combo... I have never been a fan of small light bodies w/ large lenses... Not even the xm1 w/ kit zoom. But that is just me.
The real question u need to ask yourself, is how much u really going to shoot at 24fov to make this all worth while vs shooting the 35fov w/ the x100 or x100s?
When I was younger, I was more wide angle shooter then anything else. Mainly lenses from 20-50 back then. While I still shoot as wide as 15-21 fov, it really is for crop Pano. Lately I have been shooting much more from 35 to 400 fov.. one of my walks is at the local reservoir, I tend to take the omd w/ a 45-200 or the sd1m w/ 18-200...
Before the 27 died on me, it was the most used lens on the xm1, same w/ the dp2m.
Anyway.. What I am trying to say w/ this long winded example is from looking at the pics u posted here, I really have to say u don't appear to be a wide angle type otherwise u would have kept the 21 and cropped to 24 when u needed to. Any just saying.
Good luck w/ your decision

it won't buy happiness. I'd stick to what you have Joe and take a nice a long weekend holiday somewhere to a place you always wanted to go or photograph. That always refreshes the batteries.
