It's true there something about digital that we buy and sell them
like crazy. Hey get that M5 or M6 that you were talking about.

Global sales data indicate the buy and sell trend is beginning to ebb. Fundamental improvements in digital cameras are leveling off. Even Leica has switched to CMOS technology.
Few people make large prints... or any prints at all. Everything looks nice as a small or medium-sized jpeg on a LCD screen.
Recently there was an extended thread on RFF where numerous members (this writer included) stated they were not motivated to move up to from the five-year old technology of their Nikon D700. No doubt others feel the same way about the brand they own.
The only reason I've bought new bodies and lenses in the past 2 1/2 years is because the Fuji X series resembles film rangefinders in size and I can operate one as I operated the Canonet QL-17 GIII and Zeiss Ikon M I used before abandoning film. Otherwise, I would probably still use a D200 with small primes. The truth is I would not buy the X-Pro 1 replacement if it does not have an OVF/EVF finder system. I would just pick up a nice second XP1 body.
However, the hunt for the perfect bag never ends.
I'm sorry to hear you kept the inferior model...

I sure to seem to heat things up around here...it is no surprise that I like to change things up...the xpro is a great camera but it wasn't keeping the smile on my face any longer...the xe still does though.
I don't need to buy anything atm but...
when a replacement for the xpro arrives I will give it a look...in the meantime a second body or the new 23 are on the menu.
I do apologize if my process is upsetting to some...

I like you just have the X-E1, a few Fuji lenses and a 32/1.8 Touit. Couldn't see the advantage of both bodies unless you do at least 30% of your shooting with the OVF.

To me buying and selling constantly is like banging your head against a hard surface repeatedly. Though I guess feeling dulls over time.
I do have to step back and say though the man can do whatever he wants. Whatever makes Joe happy is main.

I think my buying/selling habits are in line with many here...
I just talk about it more and in a more public fashion.
when you think about it...I like having 2 cameras and just sold one with the idea of either buying another body or buying a new lens...and have been discussing it since.

what to do next?
nothing?
buy the new 23?
buy a used x100?
buy a new x100? ($999. locally)
buy a new x100s?
i had and liked an x100 before...i wonder if the x100s is 'much' improved over the plain x100? enough to warrant getting it?

settle down a bit and wait for the 23/1.4 to be released, meanwhile shoot a bit more.
i should do the same, really, i'm thinking about my setup more than i am out shooting, shouldn't be this way.
i've tried the x100s at a photo convention, manual focusing is now useable, much improved from the x100 (which i also liked a lot), the split focusing was not such a big improvement in actual shooting for me, didn't notice a huge af improvement but then again it wasn't a low light situation. isn't the new firmware for the x100 coming out? if it's a good one, get another x100 that you'll be able to resell later and get your $ back to fund the 23/1.4, if it's the case.

if anything, i would rather wait for the second version of either the xpro or the x-e...
honestly, i'd rather have 2 x-e1 bodies...

I vote for the 23/1.4 for well. Though from the looks of it, it went up by $50US today. Which is a bummer. Samples Ive seen look amazing though. If I had the money right now I would jump on it too.
The X100 is tempting, especially since the SE is only going for about $700 used, its so pretty
Not to mention, new firmware is always nice!

I find your process refreshing. We all go through this (at least most of us) so using RFF as a sounding board before spending money makes perfect sense to me. (But just when I was thinking of getting an X-Pro1 myself, Ha!)I sure to seem to heat things up around here...it is no surprise that I like to change things up...the xpro is a great camera but it wasn't keeping the smile on my face any longer...the xe still does though.
