Some CV new products for 2008?

A digital bessa and i'd buy it in a heartbeat. Sell my DSLR too.

Granted i'd still shoot film for all of my serious stuff but anything for fun would be the digital bessa.

How well will the S mount 50mm 3.5 Heliar focus on a Contax wide open anyway?

Crappy, they never brought out a C mount of either the 50s or the 85. My guess is that they SC mount is actually an S mount but the DOF covers the difference for you C users. On a Nikon RF the lenses are quite nice though.

IMHO, it's a lens only it's mother could love the looks of. Even reversing the mount and teaching it to shoot macro will not help.

I double-dog-dare Mr. K to come out with a medium format camera. Boy, that would be retro. I'd like it to be 6x9, maybe with a fixed wide angle lens in the 50-65mm range.

With the D300 and D3 out there, the rumored M9, could a crop Zeiss be far away, maybe a full frame camera?

If a D3 can pull off iso25000 with a RGB bayer sensor, imagine what you could do with a B&W only sensor.

No one ever likes my idea of a B&W only camera. Replacing the Bayer sensor with a IR filter would reduce vignetting, increase resolution, and increase the snob appeal. In an RGB sensor, each site rejects about 2/3 of the light hitting it right? Does that mean that you could raise the iso from 25000 a stop an half to 75000? (That just sounds crazy silly.)

A B&W sensor might be the only way that Mr. K can accept the idea of a D-Bessa. Most of the pics the gallery seem to be B&W anyway. Let Ted Turner colorize them for you if you want.

Sorry, got to go, my flying car is double parked, and I'm late for my date with Mira Sorvino.

Id be happy with a high quality 50mm f1.2 for $1500 or less, if that was possible. Those Noktilux lenses are so disproportionately over priced now, (which wont lest forever), that a nice superfast 50 compeditor lens for the rest of us would probably fit in really well into our small kitbags...

Digital rangefinder? {50/35}/1.0? MF Folder? Would be cool.

But I'm hoping for a new version of the Nokton 50/1.5, with the same easy focussing, an aperture ring with more resistance (to stop accidentaly changing) and smaller.

If it was M-mount only - that would be fine.

AUFSU style viewfinder with markings for 35 and 50mm. Pretty, please?
;-)

How about a nice external, variable focal length viewfinder like the old Nikon unit? (But with square corners in the viewfinder)

I am still waiting for a non collapsable 50mm f3.5 Heliar in M mount.

You can always make your own if you buy the right bits! (See Photo)

How well will the S mount 50mm 3.5 Heliar focus on a Contax wide open anyway?

Although the lens is marked as an 'S' rather than an 'SC" I have found it focuses fine wide open on Contax Kiev and more so the Contax to M adapter I have there shown in the photo. I did a comparison of focus with a Nikkor 50mm and a Sonnar 50mm and the Heliar at 3.5 and all of them focused the same close up. I think that the slowness of the lens covers any differences between the Contax and Nikon Mounts.
