Some new photos from Cambodia and Nakhon Pathom (my new town outside of Bangkok)

Hello Everybody,

I moved out of Bangkok about 10 months ago to a small town only an hour and 30 minutes away, but it feels so different. I have been so busy with my new job that I have had such little time to take photos. Well, I went to Cambodia a couple of weeks ago for work and I am excited to say that I am going to Myanmar next week for 6 days on a photo trip, so hopefully I can participate more on this forum. Anyways, here are some recent photos.

Thanks a lot everybody, it is so nice to hear from you all. I miss participating in this forum as I used to do in the past, but due to my new position at work, my location to a film processioning lab and just that fact that I have very little free time these days. I am hoping as I get more adjusted to my new life out here, I will be able to post more photos and participate on this forum more often. The good news is, I am going to Myanmar next week, so hopefully I will be posting some nice photos soon.

BTW, while I was visiting the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (Khmer Rouge), I was fortunate enough to meet two women who worked for a couple of years in the fields under the Khmer Rouge and managed to survive. This was their first time visiting this museum and it was a very humble experience to have met them.

Fine photographs!
About picture no. 3: I heard a khaen for the first time in Bangkok without seeing the instrument and was captivated by the sound. At first I thought it was some kind of harmonium, but when I turned the corner I saw a guy sitting on a sidewalk playing what I later learned was called a khaen. I had to get myself one, and did, but haven't gotten very far learning to play it -- they're not easy, to say the least.

Hello Archiver, thanks for the message. Yes, I am still using the same set of lenses that I have been using for the last couple of years. I am going to try to use my 28mm Elmarit more often, but because I use ISO 100 film, the 35mm/1.2 gets used the most.

Hello Summar, I actually bought a Khaen a couple of years ago up in Issan and I have it hung on my wall, along with a bunch of other wooden instruments from that region. They are purely for decoration, I can not play any of them, but they make interesting conversation pieces when my Thai friends visit my room.

Regarding mrksgrn´s question: I´m not Michael, but I´ve been to Cambodia. I didn´t have any bad experiences at all. I wouldn´t worry about safety regarding robbery, but loosely hanging several cameras around your neck might pose a problem in the bigger cities when you move around, because of the traffic. Also, it might not be what you want to expose your cameras to. Remember that in that climate you sweat a lot of salt, that ends up in your shirt, which is in contact with any camera you hang around your neck.

Hello mrksgrn, sorry for the late reply. I am not sure if you are living in Cambodia now or not, but I believe it is more about how you "act" in certain areas and try to make yourself less vulnerable to thieves. It is actually quite difficult to put "it" into words, but I have been to Cambodia more than a dozen times and I have never encountered any threat, that said, I try to "act" like I know where I am going (even if I am lost) and "walk with a purpose", and the fact that I speak some Khmer helps a lot. A good friend of mine who is the editor at The Phnom Penh Post told me to be careful around the Riverside area in Phnom Penh because of an increase in "bag snatching", but I never encountered any problems on my last visit.

something really strange about this photo that I just noticed…..I can see myself in the reflection in the car window and it looks like I am shooting with one hand….. I have no idea what I was doing, I never shoot with one hand.
