Hi,
I have been living in Japan for about 2 years now and I actually started rangefinder photography here. I always go out on weekends with my camera and the roam the streets of Ginza, Shinjuku, and Harajuku for the most part. When I feel like going somewhere else that I have not been before, I would just get off the train at some random station and start walking with no particular destination in mind and shoot whatever that comes along.
Here are some of the images made here in Japan, mostly Tokyo.

I've lived in Japan for 7 years now, but I'm not much of a street photographer. I can't just stick my camera in someone's face and take a photo - it's not in me. I mostly do landscapes, buildings, sunsets, etc. I stand out because I walk around with TLRs and lots of chrome-covered beauties from the past
I've never been hassled about taking pictures, buying a developing film has been fine, and buying used goods has been great. Film is still alive and well in Japan I would say.
