From a vintage truck meeting that took place in beginning October here around. Originally I came along with my street bike but then I returned with my camera. Since most of the trucks were 1950's and 1960's I decided for a contemporary lens, the 35/1.5. 35mm for perspective. Taken with f/2-2.8 (you can see some light falloff in the outer edges of the full crops). lens mounted on my Bessa R3M with a SBLOO (quite precise framing as I rember). Slide film Agfa CT100. I had a second camera with my (Bessa R I with Konica UC 35/2.0) which results came out quite different (it was Fuji 200 negative film though)
This is an Mercedes 334, sleeping cab and 200hp . I remember having seen these kings of the Autobahn in my childhood, but they always were rare. Compared with long distance trucks we have now (500hp) these are pretty small. I'm sure that this example looks better than as it has left the factory in 1962. I asked the owner how in the world he managed to get his truck there so clean without any dust on this rainy day and he answered "Well, it was pure luck, started in Hannover the roads were pretty dry!"
When the sun came out it was a comfortable place there. Another 334 short cabin in the background
Krupp Titan, one of the strongest trucks in the 1950's. The 2-stroke Diesel engine has a very smooth sound when compared to others.
